This lodge was achieved in 1972, redecorating the building of Malga Sprugio Alta.
The building of the lodge was made possible thanks to the key contribution of engineer Giovanni Tonini, a ­ passionate painter and mountaineer, born in Riva del Garda in 1881 and who passed away at Baselga di Pinè in 1972, ­ had three children: Chiara, Leo, Serenella.

After the opening, taken place on September 1972, the relatives of Giovanni Tonini donated the new lodge to the Sezione SAT of Baselga di Pinè.

In September of year 2000, Central SAT inaugurated the redecorated “stud”, a little over the lodge.
The building is used for activities of young mountaineers.

The Lodge is the layover place of the “alpine vary” of a mark of Sentiero Europeo n.5, which connects Lago di Costanza(Constanza Lake) to Venezia (Venice)
